Long over due, but none-the-less heartfelt. Back in May, Kristin and the Team at Scratch provided the most amazing experience for my family's big 60/80 Birthday Party for my Father and Aunt. (dad turned 80 and his sister turned 60 within days of each other). We held the event in Dayton at the Atrium in Carillon Park, and from start to finish, Kristin was the picture of professionalism. She was familiar with the venue, and had great suggestions for ensuring that the day went off flawlessly. The Carillon underwent several personnel changes over the course of our party planning, and where they lacked Kristin shone and was instrumental in keeping them straight about what was supposed to transpire. She literally saved the day during the set-up! And the food! Amazing. She really listened to our needs, and allergy restraints, made excellent recommendations, and Chef executed flawlessly. Our guests (including several Dayton elites) couldn't stop commenting on the quality and taste of the food. Having been a caterer in the DC Metro area for 13 years myself, I highly recommend the Scratch Team. They will deliver beyond your expectations.
My now husband (!) and I live in New York, and we really wanted to find a caterer for our Ohio wedding that would cater to our New York friends' sophisticated tastes without alienating the kids and family from more rural places in attendance. Scratch knew exactly how to do that, and the execution was flawless!
We came to them with lots of dietary restrictions, including a desire to have a vegan/gluten-free/nut-free dish to offer... the dish was flavorful and didn't make our guests with allergies feel like they were neglected or left out. The service was perfect, and they were totally accommodating about fitting an amazing experience into our budget. I can't recommend them enough!
Scratch Events had a tent set up at the Garlic Fest this year. Their selection was easily the most unique and creative item(s) available. We ordered the sweet chili garlic chicken served with smoked gouda grits in a Parmesan cheese waffle ice cream cone. The chicken was tender and juicy. The cone was delicious and surprisingly easy to eat. Everything about it was appealing, the service with a smile, the way the meal was creativity presented, the quality of the ingredients and the taste. After finishing our cones, I returned to the tent to ask if they had a restaurant or food truck. They kindly informed me that they were a catering company; however, I could order freezer meals from them. Great News! I am already looking forward to my next sweet chili garlic chicken meal. Scratch catering provided a fabulous experience for my daughter's recent wedding. The food was delicious! All guests were served a plated meal within minutes of each other, assuring that everyone enjoyed food at the right temperature at the same time. So many of our guests have commented positively regarding how much they enjoyed the food, including comments such as "the best food I've ever had at a wedding" and "no, you can't take away my son's child's plate until I finish it myself." The accommodation of special dietary needs was beyond what I expected. The owner, chef, and their staff demonstrate that they care about your individual experience and pay attention to every detail. I am so glad that we had the opportunity to work with Scratch Event Catering!
